ATTESTATION
Attestation of a Power of Attorney
Procedure of Attestation of Power of Attorney/Affidavits:
High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra no longer accepts application for attestation of the Power of Attorney/Affidavits through mail. Executant of the power of attorney has to be physically present at the Consular Section of the High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra along with his/her original CNIC/NICOP and Pakistani/Australian Passport. He/She would be required to sign the document in the presence of the consular officer.
Check List:
Please ensure that you have the following documents with you before approaching the consular section of the High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra.
1.  Original Power of Attorney/Affidavit (prepare by the Executant OR his/her lawyer)
2.  Application Form for Power of Attorney/Attestation
3.  Executant’s Original Pakistani/Australian Passport along with its copy.
4.  Executant’s Original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) along with its copy.
5.  Two recent passport size photographs (one photograph need to be affixed on the Power of Attorney next to place of signature).
6.   If the witnesses are mentioned on the Power of Attorney Document than copies of their CNIC/NICOP should be provided and witnesses should sign on the POA document.
7.  Processing fee is A$ 20.00 per document and Mode of Payment should be ;

In case of High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra, Postal Money Order / Certified Bank Cheque / Bank Draft in favor of “High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra”.

 In case of Consulate General of Pakistan, Melbourne, Postal Money Order / Certified Bank Cheque / Bank Draft in favor of “Consulate General of Pakistan, Melbourne”.

Note: If all the above documents are provided at the submission of the application, processing time is the same day.
Note:  In case a Power of Attorney, is to be executed by more than one person, the fee is to be charged for every executant.

Attestation of a document other than the Power of Attorney:
All documents (such as birth, death, marriage, divorce certificates, Employment Letter, Experience Letter, Salary Slips and educational degrees etc.) issued by the Australian entities needing attestation of the High Commission for Pakistan, have to be first notarized/attested by the Authentication Office of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) in every state capital of Australia.
All documents (such as birth, death, marriage, divorce, Police Character Certificates and educational degrees etc.) issued by the departments of the Government of Pakistan needing attestation of the High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra have to be first notarized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad or its four camp offices in the provincial capitals.
Check List:
Applicant can send the following documents through the post to the consular section of the High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra.
1.  Original Document attested by DFAT/MOFA Pakistan
2.  Application Form for Attestation
3.   Applicant’s copy of Passport attested by Justice of Peace (JP) or any Police Station.
4.  Applicant’s copy of CNIC/NICOP attested by Justice of Peace (JP) or any Police Station.
5.  Processing fee in the form of Postal Money Order or Bank Cheque A$20.00
6.  Self-Addressed Express or Registered Post Envelop for the return of the document.
Mode of Payment:
•  In case of High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra, Postal Money Order / Certified Bank Cheque / Bank Draft in favor of “High Commission for Pakistan, Canberra”.

•    In case of Consulate General of Pakistan, Melbourne, Postal Money Order / Certified Bank Cheque / Bank Draft in favor of “Consulate General of Pakistan, Melbourne”.

•  No Cash is accepted in any case.
•  Please note Consular fees once deposited cannot be refunded
