Pakistan

Pakistani driver’s license is directly verified by almost all the Transport Departments of Australia. Applicants are advised to approach the Transport Department concerned directly to process conversion of their Pakistani license. In case the Transport Department requests the applicant to get verification from the High Commission or Consulate General, then the applicants may approach the Mission.

Please note: Only residents of the ACT, Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory may apply for verification to the High Commission in Canberra. Those residing in South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria may apply to our Consulate General in Melbourne. Residents of NSW may apply to our Consulate General in Sydney.

Please note that submitting fake, forged or digitally altered document is a fraud offence and subject to severe penalties under Crimes Act 1900 and Pakistan Penal Code Section 420.

Required Documents

  • Driving License Form filled in and signed
  • Copy of Passport attested by JP/Police Station
  • Copy of CNIC / NICOP attested by JP/Police Station
  • Copy of your current visa status
  • Attested Copy of the Pakistani Driving Licence (National Licence only)
  • Attested copies of passport pages showing exit/entry stamps of Pakistan

  • Only residents of the Australian Capital Territory, Western Australia, Queensland and Northern Territory are eligible to apply at the High Commission. Applicants in other states/ territories are requested to apply at the nearest Consulate General.

Note: Documents may be submitted in person or through mail / post. For delivery of the Verification Letter through mail / post, please provide a pre-paid self-addressed Registered / Express Post Envelope.

Processing Fee

  • Processing fee is AUD 20.00 (non-refundable).
  • Fee may be paid through Postal Money Order in favour of “High Commission for Pakistan” or EFTPOS (bank charges apply) – all credit / debit cards, except American Express, are accepted.
  • No cash payment is accepted.

Checklist before the Visit

  • Fill in and sign Driving License Form
  • If you are not visiting the High Commission, pay the Fee through Postal Money Order and send all completed documents by post.

On the day of Visit

  • Bring required documents to the High Commission.
  • Pay Fee and submit documents.

Document Ready

Processing time is 5 working days from the date of receipt of the application. The processing time depends on the verification and checks by the High Commission and the licence issuing authority in Pakistan.
